BFL Owen brings years of experience in the new design and retrofit of healthcare facilities. Services include new construction, SB 1953 seismic evaluation, compliance report, and retrofit of existing healthcare facilities.

We are one of few engineering firms specialized in using Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) requirements for design of new hospital and acute care facilities in California. BFL Owen's principals have completed design of several hospital buildings using Reinforced and Post Tensioned Concrete, as well as Steel structures.

SB-1953 Seismic Evaluation expertise of Acute Facilities. We are one of the pioneer structural engineers that uses the state-of-knowledge analytical methods for seismic evaluation and upgrade of existing hospitals. We work closely with hospitals to prepare a sound and cost effective compliance plans for submittal to OSHPD for their approval. BFL Owen is currently retained by California's Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development Division for Structural Engineering Plan Check Services.
