One of BFL Owen's specialities is the design of shopping centers, mega-centers and retail buildings. We have designed over 100 retail centers throughout California. Facilities have been designed for major anchor tenants in home, food and office products industries. Tenants have included Thrifty's, Sav-On, Raley's, Lucky's, Von's, Safeway Supermarkets, Albertson's and Home Club. BFL Owen has provided structural engineering services for the 22 acre, 300,000 square foot Victor Valley Town Center. The center includes space for Von's Pavillions, Ross, Sav-On, many small shops and several pad buildings.

Most recently, BFL Owen is involved with the SunnyvaleWave Mall Expansion. We have also designed various mixed-use facilities with significant retail components to include the Park at Harbour View Apartments and retail stores, UC Davis Parking Structure with Bookstore, and the City of Hollister's downtown parking structure with ground floor retail. Westfield's Topanga Shopping Mall www.westfield.com, is one of the largest in the United States with over 1 million sq ft of upscale expansion. BFL Owen is providing engineering services for the main mall and parking structure for this $2billion expansion.
